Once again, Kim Richards is avoiding the slammer.
The former “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” star was in court on Wednesday for a probation violation hearing in regards to her shoplifting case from last August.
In court, Kim was required to show that she has completed her 30 community service days and 52 Alcoholics Anonymous sessions. Her lawyers showed that she’s up to date on her AA meetings and has completed most of her service hours, TMZ said.
Because of her progress, the judge cut her a break, despite the fact that she missed the deadline to complete everything.
The reality star will continue to be on probation and everything must be completed by November when she has another hearing.
Kim seems to be cleaning up her life after a very rough go. She appeared happy and healthy while attending a movie premiere in Las Vegas on July 31.
The appearance came after multiple incidents and legal proceedings.
In September 2015, as part of a plea deal, a judge let her skirt time behind bars so long as she attended 52 AA classes and did 30 days of community labor. The sentence stemmed from an incident five months earlier in which she had a drunken meltdown at the Beverly Hill Hotel in Los Angeles. After hiding out in a restroom, police said she kicked an officer. She’s was charged with trespassing, resisting arrest, battery on a police officer and being drunk in public.
Then it seemed that she hadn’t been serving the community, and a judge wasn’t happy.
In April, the judge issued a bench warrant for the former reality star since she has yet to turn in any documentation to prove she’s attended the number of AA classes ordered in her plea deal. Bail was been set at $26,000.
Kim’s situation was quite strange. In February, she was called into a Los Angeles courtroom to explain why she had yet to perform any of her 30 days of community service. She had previously said she couldn’t do hard labor because of a foot injury, but the prosecutor said that was all hogwash because she’d been spotted in photos wearing high heels on red carpets.
In August 2015 she was arrested for shoplifting $600 worth of merchandise from Target and she was even reportedly homeless and living out of her car. She’s maintained that since September of 2015 she’s is sober and healthy.
