A judge was arrested for the death of his son, who was left in a hot car.
36-year-old Circuit Judge Wade Naramore of Arkansas, said that he was supposed to take his son to daycare.
However, the judge said that he was preoccupied and he went to eat breakfast at McDonald’s rather than at home as he did everyday.
Naramore said that he placed his 18-month-old son Thomas, in the car seat and he was going to take him to a daycare center, but instead, he absentmindedly headed straight to his office.
When the judge left work at 3:00 p.m., he headed towards the daycare to pick up his son. While driving, Naramore heard a noise from the backseat.
He said that he turned around and found his son still strapped in the car seat. Naramore immediately called for help.
A witness said that the judge was cradling his son on the front yard while waiting for emergency workers.
Gerald Keith testified in court that he heard the judge crying and repeatedly saying “I killed my child.”
The boy was pronounced dead at the scene, and the judge was arrested on charges of misdemeanor negligent homicide. He was released after posting $5,000 bond.
Despite the horrific tragedy, Naramore’s wife is standing by him and supporting him. The couple walked into court while holding hands.
