“Tonight Show” host Jimmy Fallon poked fun at fallen Olympic gold medalist Ryan Lochte at Sunday’s VMAs.
The comic took the stage at Madison Square Garden dressed like the disgraced Olympian in a track jacket with Lochte’s signature white dyed hair and proceeded to poke fun at the swimmer, who claimed he was robbed at gunpoint in Rio, before footage from a security camera proved he lied.
“Is it too late now to say sorry?” Fallon asked, using Justin Bieber’s apology anthem “Sorry” to mock Lochete recanting his story.
Same, Michael Phelps. Same. #VMAs https://t.co/OxP4n0q1f3— MTV (@MTV) August 29, 2016
He continued to spew off more lies, including one that he filmed all of the Video of the Year nominees: “I had a 30-way with Kanye West. I made Lemonade with Queen Bey. I’m Reezy with the good hair!”
Lochte and his fellow Olympic swimmers Gunnar Bentz, Jack Conger and James Feigen, face charges in Brazil for filing a fake police report.
Lochte’s Olympic teammate Michael Phelps was seen on camera exclaiming, “Oh my god!” as he took out his cell phone to film the silliness. Phelps presented earlier in the night.
The “SNL” alum finished off his bit by taking one last jab at Lochte: “Who had the Best Video of the year? I can’t tell you that. I couldn’t tell you even if there was a gun to my head, which there isn’t, but I still couldn’t choose.”
