Jealous boyfriend calls police to say that his girlfriend is carrying a bomb on a plane to prevent her from meeting her former husband

Danesh Gomanie and his girfriend

A jealous boyfriend was arrested after allegedly calling the police to report that his girlfriend was carrying a bomb and drugs on a plane, according to police in New York.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) said that they have arrested 33-year-old Danesh Gomanie of Queens, after being accused of trying to prevent his girlfriend from flying to Guyana, in order to stop her from meeting her former husband.

Gomanie was booked into jail, and his bail was set $20,000.

According to the criminal complaint, Gomanie called 911 on Wednesday, and told the dispatcher that there was a woman on Caribbean Airlines flight 527 who was carrying a bomb and drugs.

He gave the operator the first name of his girlfriend, and customs officers confirmed that there was a woman with that name on the flight.

Gomanie gave his name as Singh. Police soon learned the call was a hoax. Several days later, when police came to arrest Gomanie, he was in bed with his girlfriend.

Gomanie admitted that made the call because he was upset with his girlfriend for flying to Guyana, and was afraid she would meet her former husband who lives there.

The girlfriend laughed at the idea of hooking up with her former husband, saying that they have been separated for 10 years.

The girlfriend forgave Gomanie for making the prank call to police.
