Hong Kong teen falls into river while playing Pokemon Go

The augmented reality game, Pokémon Go, debuted in Hong Kong just last week, and already an 18-year-old trainer has slipped into the headlines.

An eyewitness says that the teen accidentally dropped his phone while playing the game and when he bent down to pick it up, the unfortunate guy tumbled into the Lam Tsuen River,  Several people stopped what they were doing (presumably playing Pokémon Go as well) and rescued the teenager, who suffered more from embarrassment than injuries. He is supposedly the first in Hong Kong to be in an accident from playing the game, but hey, we’re sure he won’t be the last.

Though the game warns people to stay alert of their surroundings, the lure of catching Pokémon still causes many to stay glued to their screens
