Gunmen invade three Kaduna villages, 11 feared killed

Unknown gunmen in the early hours of Tuesday were reported to have invaded three villages near area called Godogodo town in Jema’a Local Government Area of Kaduna State.

The incident left 11 victims feared killed and several others injured, while some houses were also alleged to have been set on fire in part of a village.

According to a source from the village who spoke to Journalists on phone, the villages were attacked in the dead of the night.

Meanwhile, Governor Nasir El-Rufai condemned the violence in Godogodo, while speaking at the meeting of the traditional rulers in Kaduna on Tuesday.

The villages attacked were Gada Biyu, where six men and three women were said to have been killed; Akwa’a, which lost two men, but the village was not vandalised and Anguwan Anjo, where no live was lost, but shooting was heard till day break.

Kaduna State Police Command Spokesman, ASP Aliyu Usman, said he was yet to get any details of the attack, but assured that everything has been brought under control.
