Gene Wilder, star of ‘Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory,’ dead at 83

Gene Wilder, the beloved actor who captivated audiences with his performances in classic movies such as “Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory” and “Blazing Saddles,” has died.

He was 83.

The acclaimed film star passed away late Sunday in Stamford, Conn. due to complications stemming from his Alzheimer’s disease, his nephew revealed on Monday.
