Shemar Moore, who portrayed beloved FBI agent Derek Morgan on Criminal Minds, was robbed of $61,084 by an actor and former colleague who guest-starred on the hit crime drama.
According to court documents obtained by ET, Keith Tisdell, 42, was convicted on charges that he stole money from Moore. An agreement was reached Wednesday morning in California, in which Tisdell will repay the 46-year-old actor.
Tisdell is ordered to pay restitution to Baby Girl LLC, a charity created by Moore (named after one of his signature phrases on the show) that aims to help those battling multiple sclerosis. Tisdell was involved with the charity and arrested in January on suspicion of embezzlement. Moore reportedly learned of the missing cash from an audit.
The news comes just one day after another Criminal Minds star, Thomas Gibson, made headlines for allegedly kicking a writer in the leg while filming scenes a few weeks ago. He was temporarily suspended from the show, and permanently let go from the CBS series on Friday.
“Thomas Gibson has been dismissed from Criminal Minds,” a joint statement from ABC Studios and CBS Television Studios read. “Creative details for how the character’s exit will be addressed in the show will be announced at a later date.”
Gibson, who played Aaron Hotchner, quickly responded to the news, stating, “I love Criminal Minds and have put my heart and soul into it for the last 12 years.”
“I had hoped to see it through to the end, but that won’t be possible now,” Gibson continued. “I would just like to say thank you to the writers, producers, actors, our amazing crew, and, most importantly, the best fans that a show could ever hope to have.”
