Chinese woman detained after slapping worker at duty free shop in LAX

A Chinese tourist recently secured her spot on the national travel blacklist by slapping an ethnically Chinese duty free cashier twice due to a missing credit card inside LAX.

The woman surnamed Liang visited a duty free store at Tom Bradley International Terminal in Los Angeles, where they offer a special deal targeting Chinese visitors: if shoppers buy up to $400 of goods and pay with a China-issued bank card, they will get a discount of $20! Liang first went to the checkout counter with less than $400 worth of stuff. She was about to pay, but then was informed of the sweet deal. Thus, she decided to go back and buy more things, accidentally leaving her credit card at the counter, RMZXB reports.

After realizing her card was gone, Liang went back to the counter and demanded the card be returned to her pronto. The cashier also had forgot about the card and didn’t know where it went. She and the shop manager both searched around and finally found it beside the cash register. As the cashier was handing the card back to Liang, she was slapped across the face twice.

What a great way to express your gratitude!

Liang was quickly stopped by the rest of the staff and airport security was alerted. She was taken into custody and her flight to Shanghai was delayed for over an hour before taking off without her at 2 a.m. She is being held until a court hearing for the attack is held.
