Police launched and investigation after three people, including a 16-year-old girl, died during a shoot out over a parking space, according to police in Illinois.
Chicago police said that the fight broke out when a group of girls were trying to save the parking space for their friend while a group of about 100 people gathered in the 800 block of West 50th Place, around 12:30 a.m. on Thursday.
The party was in honor of a man who died during a gang related shooting. 25-year-old Denzel Childs approached the group of girls who were saving the parking place for their friend.
During the argument, Childs pulled out a gun and started shooting at them until an unknown person shot and killed him.
A total of four people were killed in the shooting. 34-year-old Kayana Q. Armond was pronounced dead at a hospital. Childs suffered several gunshot wounds to the neck, hands and chest.
He was taken to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
16-year-old Jessica Williams of the 12000 block of South State Street, died of an asthma attack after witnessing the shooting and running away from the scene.
So far, no arrests have been made.
