A prankster in Australia, was arrested after trying to entertain his YouTube fans by biting off the head of a rat.
However, while he thought it was funny, many people did not think so.
Clemente Matthew Maloney, 25, bit the head of a rat while it was still
alive, and said that it took 29 seconds for the animal to die.
Maloney posted the video online, where people called on police to arrest
him. Maloney was arrested, and he pleaded guilty at the Brisbane
Magistrates Court to inflicting unnecessary pain on a domestic rat.
Although he apologized for his actions, Maloney said: “I don’t think it
was that bad. There’s a lot worse that I could’ve done, like buying rat
poison, rat traps and all that stuff.”
In his plea deal, Maloney avoided a prison term. Instead, he ordered by
Magistrate Suzette Coates to complete 100 hours of community service and
pay $90 in court costs.
He was also banned him from owning a pet for three years.
Magistrate Coates described Maloney’s behavior as “narcissistic and attention-seeking.”
