Two men armed with hammers rob sports betting shop and casino after banging on desk near employees

Police are looking to arrest two men on a charge of armed robbery after
allegedly using hammers to steal cash from a casino and sports betting
shop, according to police in the United Kingdom.

Ashton police said that the incident happened around 8:00 p.m. on Friday.

The two men armed with hammers entered the Betfred at The Arcades on
Warrington Street. The men approached a member of the staff and started
banging on the desk with hammers, demanding money.

The staff member handed them the cash from the safe and they fled from the scene.

The first man was wearing black tracksuit bottoms, a black hooded jacket
with blue stripes on the sleeves and carrying a black bag.

The second man was described as wearing dark colored jeans, white rimmed
sunglasses, black trainers and black gloves. The robbery took place
when the shop was busy, and it was very distressing for staff and
customers inside at the time.

So far, no arrests have been made.
