Troops repel Boko Haram attack in Kangarwa community in Borno

Troops of 119 Task Force Battalion stationed in Kangarwa community in
Borno State yesterday evening, after a three hour gun battle, repelled
attacks by Boko Haram members. A statement by the army spokesperson,
Colonel Sani Usman said the attack started at about 6.30pm and end at
about 9.30pm.

Two soldiers were killed during the attack while
seven others wee seriously injured. Several Boko haram members also lost
their lives.

Sani in the statement said the bodies of the soldiers and those wounded
in action are being evacuated

“It should be noted that the successful repelling of the attack was made
possible by support from the Nigerian and Chadian Air Force fighter
jets,” the army statement added
