‘The unity of Nigria is non-negotiable’ – President Buhari

President Buhari today said the unity of Nigeria as a country is
non-negotiable and would be protected by his government. Speaking when
Vice President Yemi Osinbajo led other government functionaries to pay
him a visit to mark Eid Mubarak, President Buhari said those who were
around between 1967 and 1970 when former head of state, General Yakubu
Gowon was preaching the one-Nigeria message, would understand that the
unity of the country is not negotiable.

He said this while reacting to calls by Niger Delta
militants and pro-biafra members for the country to break up.

President Buhari called on Niger Delta militants destroying oil and gas
installations to embrace peace and give his government a chance.
