Texas governor suffers severe burns on his feet after being scalded with boiling water

The governor of Texas, was rushed to a hospital after burning both his
feet with extremely hot water, according to a spokesperson at the
governor’s office.

58-year-old Greg Abbott sustained second and third-degree burns on both
legs below the knees and feet, and he may not attend the Republican
National Convention.

Abbott was with his family in Jackson Hole, Wyoming, on Thursday, when he was burned in an accident with hot water.

The governor did not disclose how the accident happened. The governor
was treated at the St. John’s Medical Center. He was released after
several hours.

The governor’s legs are wrapped, but it is not obvious because they are
covered by his pants. Abbott is wearing orthopedic shoes instead of
dress shoes or boots he usually dons in public.

Abbott will check himself into the Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio on Monday afternoon, for further treatment.

Meanwhile, his legs get wrapped every day and will be required to do so
for two or three weeks. The governor is paralyzed from the waist down
after getting his by a tree many years ago.
