Saraki, Ekweremadu’s case continues today

The
forgery case against the Senate President, Dr. Bukola Saraki, his
deputy, Ike Ekweremadu and two others filed by the Attorney General of
the Federation (AGF) and Minister of Justice, Mr. Abubakar Malami (SAN),
continues today before Justice Yusuf Halilu of the FCT High Court in
Jabi, Abuja.

Also standing the joint criminal trial along with Saraki are a former
Clerk of the National Assembly, Alhaji Salisu Abubakar Maikasuwa and his

both Saraki and Ekweremadu took over the leadership of the senate.

According to the prosecution, the accused persons by their conduct
committed an offence punishable under Section 97 (1) and 364 of the
Penal Code Act.

The prosecution led by the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP),

have all pleaded not guilty and challenged the prosecution to prove its
case against them.
