On Thursday, an “armless” beggar was spotted kneeling on the ground outside of a market in Yiwu, Zhejiang province.
Apparently, something about the beggar was suspicious, causing one
security guard to investigate, even going so far as to pull off the
man’s shirt.
Revealing a pair of perfectly functioning arms.
The incident has outraged unsympathetic web users online:
“I think that my sympathy for these people is slowly running out,” reads the top comment on one thread.
“This man is just like those ‘Filipino monkeys,’ once they get
exposed, they get panicky and show their true face,” commented another.
“Chop off his hands, then he can go begging,” wrote another web user.
Earlier this month, a video went viral on Chinese social media showing a “legless” beggar being forcibly exposed on the street.
