Some Nigerian kids are pictured showing off the ink marks on their pinky
fingers that mean they have been vaccinated against polio. Nigeria
celebrates reaching two years without a new case of the wild polio virus
today, 24 July 2016. The last Nigerian case of this crippling disease
was on 24 July 2014; the country is well on its way to being declared
polio-free in 2017 if it does not have another case in the next 365
days.
