Paramedics engage in selfie war taking photos with unconscious patients

A man and a woman of Florida, were arrested after engaging in a selfie war to see who can take more photos with patients.

The Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office said in a press release that
they have arrested 24-year old Kayla Renee Dubois.

She was charged with two counts of interception and disclosure of oral communications.

Authorities said that they were looking for 33-year old Christopher
Wimmer on seven counts of the same charge. He later turned himself in.

Police said that the selfies included 41 patients, some of whom were
unconscious. In one selfie, Wimmer forcefully opened the eyelid of a
sedated patient for the photo.

He is facing an additional misdemeanor battery charge over this despicable act.

Three of the 41 patients gave their consent to take the photos, police said.

The suspects forwarded some of the selfies to other emergency services and their friends.

The sheriff’s office began investigating after complaints from three
other emergency workers. Wimmer immediately resigned and Dubois was
fired a week later.
