Man pretends to be police chief to impress girlfriend before being arrested at his ‘job’

A man came up with an elaborate scheme to impress his girlfriend with the hope of getting her to marry him.

The man of Chongqing, China, told the woman that he was the chief of the police force.

He even had a police uniform. However, when the woman’s family began to
question him and accusing him of being a fraudster, the man decided to
take things to the next level.

To prove to his girlfriend that he is truly the police chief, the man agreed to take his girlfriend along to work.

There, he pretended to know the officers. When he was questioned by an
officer as to who he was, the man replied: “Brother, you do not know
your new police chief? That must be because I was transferred to this
station last week.”

He then asked the officer to bring a cup of water for his guest, and he
declared that there will be a meeting that night, during which he will
present himself to everyone.

The officer thought that this was a bit strange so he asked his
colleagues if there had been a change in leadership. When he was assured
that there was no change, he arrested the impostor.

The man then told police that he met his girlfriend online, and discovered that she has a great admiration for police officers.

So he ordered police uniforms and he pretended to be a police chief in hopes that she would marry him.

During their investigation, police learned that the man actually had five girlfriends at the same time.

They also learned that he defrauded the women by getting them to send him a lot of money by saying that his mother was very ill.

The man was taken into custody on a host of fraud charges.
