Three people have died and one is in critical condition after a man
doused a dialysis patient with gasoline and set him on fire at a
hospital, according to police in Albania.
Police said that the incident unfolded at the American Hospital of Tirana, on Monday.
According to the police investigation, 57-year-old Cenaj Lefter stormed
into the dialysis ward of the hospital with gasoline, following a
dispute he had earlier with 47-year-old D. Saraci.
Lefter ran towards Saraci, and the two men wrestled on the floor for
several seconds until the suspect managed to ignite the liquid, which
almost instantly triggered a massive fire.
Lefter and Saraci can be seen catching fire as the blaze spread to other
hospital beds. Lefter died in the attack and Saraci is in critical
condition.
Two other patients who are not involved in the conflict, Sanie Sulaj, 55, and Hani Mali, 55, died of asphyxiation.
