Good Samaritan buys $80 worth of candy from girl who was being bullied by elderly woman

A girl in California, tried to make some money by selling candy outside a Target store.

However, an elderly woman did not like the fact that the girl was out
trying to hustle people to buy candy outside of “her” Target store in
Rowland Heights.

The woman asked the girl: “Where’s your license? Do you have permission
to be here?” When the girl said “no,” the elderly woman told her that
police were on their way and that she was going to be arrested.

Jay Lopez said that when he arrived at the scene, he saw the girl crying while the woman was still berating her.

Andy Lizarraga, who witnessed the incident, took video of the exchange
between Lopez and the elderly woman. He told the woman to leave the girl
alone, but when she refused, Lopez offered to buy all the candy.

The girl counted the candy and asked for $80. He bought all the candy and handed it out to Target shoppers for free.

Lizarraga posted the video to Facebook, where it was seen more than six million times and got nearly 70,000 shares.

Lizarraga said that the daughter of the elderly woman contacted her and
asked her to remove the video, but she did not take the video off
Facebook.

Lopez said that people need to mind their own business. “If this was
Girl Scout cookies and it was a white girl, and I’m not putting race
into this, I bet it would a very different story,” he said.
