Flight delayed after passenger rips off ceiling panel thinking it is overhead luggage cabin

Plane passengers were not happy when they were informed that there will be a long delay due to an ignorant passenger.

The passenger boarded a flight from Hong Kong to Bangkok, Thailand.

One passenger, who was looking for the overhead luggage cabin to place his handbag, forcefully ripped off part of the ceiling.

When questioned by flight attendants, the traveler said that he thought he was opening the overhead luggage compartment.

Cathay Pacific was forced to delay flight CX705 until engineers were
able to fix the ceiling. The flight was delayed over three hours.

Airport officials said that the flight was supposed to leave at 8:15
a.m., but was delayed until 11:47 a.m. Photos from the plane show
significant damage to the interior of the aircraft.

Part of the ceiling was seen hanging down over the seats.
