Firefighters find burning body after responding to calls of mannequin on fire

A man’s charred body discovered after firefighters were called to a burning mannequin in Florida.

Pembroke Pines police said a witness called at about 6:50 a.m., saying
that there was a mannequin on fire outside a crafts store.

When firefighters arrived, they realized that it was not a mannequin, but rather a person who had been set on fire.

Firefighters extinguished the flames and determined that the man was deceased.

Investigators have launched an investigation into the death of the man,
said Capt. Al Xiques with the Pembroke Pines Police Department.

It is still unclear if the man died before or after he was set on fire.
Authorities also want to know how the man was set on fire and if foul
play was involved.

Police said that he was an African American who was often seen walking
in the neighborhood. They are asking people to help them identify the
man.
