Doctors find illegal drugs in urine of 1-year-old boy after father brought him to hospital with high fever

 

A father was arrested on a charge of drug possession after doctors found
traces of illegal drugs in the urine of his child, according to police
in Japan.

Kobe police said that they have arrested 34-year-old Naofumi Nishimoto,
after his 1-year-old son was brought to the emergency because he was
suffering from high fever.

Nishimoto was charged with one count of violating the Stimulants Control Law. His wife is also facing the same charge.

According to the police investigation, Nishimoto, who lives with his
wife and newborn daughter, brought his 1-year-old son to the hospital on
Friday.

The child suffered from a very high fever. Doctors took a blood test and
examined the child’s urine, and noticed traces of stimulants.

The hospital contacted police who questioned Nishimoto. Police raided
his home, where they .04 grams of stimulants and an inhaler in a bag.

Nishimoto said that he consumes drugs, but denied giving them to his son
or daughter. Police said that the child is in stable condition at the
hospital.
