Cow tramples boy to death on father’s farm during exercise routine

A little boy was killed while doing an exercise routine with his
father’s cows on a family farm, according to police in Massachusetts.

Georgetown police said that the incident unfolded on Saturday around 12:30 p.m.

8-year-old George Carter was helping his father exercise the cows when
one of the 20 animals became startled. The cow proceeded to trample the
boy.

The child suffered severe injuries and was taken to the Anna Jacques
Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. According to the police
investigation, the boy exercised the cows that were to be presented at a
cattle fair.

Carter’s father shared the devastating news on GoFundMe, and asked
family and friends to help him out with expenses related to his son’s
death.

“Jackie O’Sullivan and I lost our 8-year-old son George today in a freak
accident. We were preparing to show our farm animals at the Barnstable
fair, and he was exercising the cows.

“In an instant, the animal got spooked and dragged him to his death. I
know this is said all the time, but anyone who knew George loved him.
Our family is suffering incredible sorrow and hardship at this time, and
any support is appreciated,” the boy’s father wrote on GoFundMe.
