Justice Abang of the Federal High Court Abuja has stopped the planned National Convention of PDP

Justice Abang of the Federal High Court Abuja has stopped the planned
National Convention of PDP slated for August 17th in Port Harcourt,
Rivers state. Delivering judgement in a suit filed by Ali Modu Sheriff,
Justice Abang ruled that the May 21st convention of the party that
sacked Sheriff from office was illegal and that the caretaker committee
raised by the party during that convention was unlawfully constituted.

“The convention was unlawfully held and the caretaker committee was
unlawfully constituted. If the Markarfi-led faction, as an apostle of
impunity, missed its way to the Port Harcourt division of the FHC, the
court cannot be said to have acted within its legal jurisdiction in
entertaining the matter,”the judge said

PDP had planned to elect members into its key positions during the
proposed August 17th convention.
