Woman caught stealing toilet seats and wash basins from train

A woman of India, was arrested after she was seen coming out of a train with a large bag containing stolen items. On Saturday morning, the Railway Protection Force arrested the woman for
stealing toilet seats and sinks of a train that had stopped at the
Ghatkopar station in Mumbai.

45-year-old Sarita Gupta was found in possession of three sinks and two toilets seats that were made of steel.

According to the authorities, the train had stopped at the Ghatkopar
station at around 10:30 a.m., and Gupta was seen getting off with a
large plastic bag.

Head constable Suresh Pandey approached the woman and inspected the
large white bag she was carrying, and he found the items, according to
sub inspector Brijesh Kumar of Ghatkopar.

“Gupta did not have an accomplice. She just pulled off the toilet seats
and sinks as the plywood under them were weak,” Kumar added.

Gupta told police that she used to sell vegetables for a living, but
three months ago, when she was unable to make ends meet, she began
selling scrap metal to supplement her income.

She was arrested and charged with theft.
