US calls on citizens in Istanbul to contact families via social media after terror attack

The U.S. Department of State Bureau of Consular Affairs called on the
U.S. citizens via its twitter account to inform their families and
friends about their condition.
“If in Turkey, contact family/friends & check in on social media to let them know you are safe,” the statement read.

In
a separate message around 15 minutes later, tnhe U.S: bureau said: “No
new updates at this time. If in #Turkey, continue reaching out to
family/friends to let them know you are safe.

U.S. Republican candidate Donald Trump also tweeted on the attack.

“Yet another terrorist attack, this time in Turkey. Will the world ever realize what is going on? So sad,” he said.

“We must do everything possible to keep this horrible terrorism outside the United States,” Trump said.
