Two people were killed while trying to remove a dead deer from the road. Police in South Carolina, said that a teenager who recently graduated
from Colleton County High School, and a man, were hit by a vehicle after
they got out of their car to move a dead deer.
Both died in hospitals in the area. The victims were identified as
17-year-old Casey Parrott and 28-year-old Marshall Catterton, both of
Walterboro.
According to Colleton County officials, the accident occurred on Jefferies Highway, at 9:50 p.m.
Parrott and Catterton, were traveling north when they allegedly struck and killed the deer.
After exiting their pick up truck to remove the deer from the road, they were struck by a truck passing the scene.
Highway Patrol has identified the driver who hit the pair, but they did
not say whether any charges will be filed. However, they said that the
driver and the passenger from the second vehicle were not injured.
