A former NFL was hospitalized after being shot by a homeowner while trying to break into a home.
Stanley Wilson II, 33, a former cornerback for the Detroit Lions, was shot in the abdomen after he was found trying to enter a home in Portland, Oregon, police said.
Wilson was shot by the 78-year-old homeowner just before 4:00 p.m., while he was completely naked.
Officers of the Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office who arrived at the
scene, found Wilson naked in a water fountain in the backyard of the
home he was trying to enter.
Police said that the homeowner found Willson trying to climb through a back window and he shot him in the stomach.
Wilson was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Wilson faces charges of attempted burglary and trespassing.
Ironically, his father, Stanley Wilson Sr., who was also an NFL player,
was sentenced to 22 years in prison for breaking into a home in Beverly
Hills, California, where he stole items to fund his drug habit.
