A man was arrested on a charge of misusing the 911 telephone system
after allegedly calling police to report that a Checkers manager refused
to give him the sandwich he liked, according to police in Florida.
Winter Haven police said that they have arrested 53-year-old John May,
after he called him to complain about the manager of the Checkers
restaurant located at 940 Havendale Blvd.
May was charged with misuse of the 911 telephone system and trespassing.
According to the police, May ordered a sandwich at Checkers and ate half
of it before complaining to the manager that he really wanted another
one.
He asked for the order to be corrected, but was ignored by the manager.
May then called police and told the 911 dispatcher that the manager on
staff told him that she wouldn’t correct his order.
She also told him to leave the store. The manager then shut the window on him.
May told the officers who responded to scene that it was not an
emergency, and that he just wanted them to speak with the manager about
correcting his order.
