High school sweethearts celebrating their 66th wedding anniversary die hours after arriving on vacation

 

An elderly couple died while celebrating their 66th wedding anniversary. The couple of Texas, were walking on the beach in Mexico, when they were suddenly dragged to death by a giant wave.

Richard and Nancy Culpepper, were pulled underwater as they were walking
along the beach in Cabo San Lucas, just hours after they arrived.
“A rogue wave came and washed them out to sea,” the couple’s son, Ben Culpepper, said.

The couple was pulled from the water by a navy boat, but they could not be saved.

Richard, 86, and Nancy, 83, met while they were students at Thomas Jefferson High School in San Antonio.

They got married when she was 17 and he was 20 years old, and they were now celebrating 66 years of life together.

The couple not only lived together, they also worked together. They were
the owners of the Culpepper’s Cleaners chain. A few years ago, they
handed the business over to their children.
