Boko Haram militants raided and carted away foodstuffs from a remote village in the southern part of Borno State.
According to a local vigilante who spoke to Sahara Reporters,the notorious terrorist group stormed the remote village of Ashir along Biu road in Damboa Local Government Area (LGA) of Borno State around 8:30pm on Wednesday.
SaharaReporters has received reports that Boko Haram set the entire village ablaze after stealing the foodstuffs from the community.
He said:.
”They came on motorcycles around 8:30pm. As a local vigilante on duty saw them he quickly alerted the villagers. Everyone fled into the nearby bushes.”
“They went away with two vehicles, some bicycles, goats, chickens as well as all the foodstuffs including salt. But we thank Allah nobody was killed. Only a few people sustained small injuries,” Abubakar Jojori told SaharaReporters by phone from Biu town”
